I teach all levels of jazz guitar to any students who are serious and committed. Scheduling can be flexible if needed. My teaching approach is geared toward helping the student become comfortable and confident playing jazz and improvising. My lessons focus on making music and simplifying theory towards a musically useful understanding. A large component of our study will also deal with taking the mystery out of fretboard navigation. So if you want to learn how to develop jazz phrasing or easily play chord melodies or you feel you are ready to take your playing to the next level then I may be able to help you. I recommend that we arrange a preliminary session where we can audition each other. Contact me to discuss it further.

LESSON SAMPLE VIDEO:
Here is a short lesson on chords and walking bass accompaniment. This is an example of how a typical "in person" lesson might unfold, but it is also an example of what you would see during and online video lesson.
This WMV video file is about 22MB, on a fast connection it might stream or you can download it by right-clicking and choosing "save target as"

REALTIME ONLINE LESSONS:
I am also available for online lessons with students anywhere in the world. The technical requirements for online lessons are:
  • Cable or DSL high-speed internet connection
  • a web cam
  • microphone
  • printer
  • band-in-a-box software (not absolutely neccessary but very useful)

As a companion to an online lesson session I will often send you a video demonstrating the concepts we covered in the lesson. Here is a sample from a lesson talking about the use of target notes to create resolution and independent phrases in a solo. The video file is a 9.5MB WMV file
