2007 Holiday Season
I still have some open dates in November and December, if you have been thinking about having live music at your holiday party, now is the time to book before it's too late.
Here is an Mp3 sampler showcasing solo guitar, duo, and trio performing holiday favorites.

If you are considering having live jazz at your event, please contact me to discuss the various options. What I like to do is talk with the client to get a clear sense of what you have in mind and then organize my jazz group accordingly. For example if you have a relatively small number of guests and are concerned about the music being too loud, a drumless trio or duo is a great option. On the other hand if you want the music to really energize your guests and be more "out front" at your event, including a drummer is usually the way to go.
Even the instrumentation can be customized to your wishes. If you love the sound of trombone for example, I can include a wonderful jazz trombonist in the group, or if you would like to have a vocalist, there are several I work with who are all excellent. The point is I am flexible in order to put together the best possible jazz music to fit your wishes and your budget. You will be working directly with me the musician rather than going through a booking agent so you will avoid that added expense and added potential for misunderstandings.
I have played for hundreds of weddings, corporate functions, and other private events. If you are unsure what would work best or would like help making choices, I am happy to share my experience. I can always suggest what I know will be the most suitable configuration for your particular event. One thing you can be sure of is you will be getting the finest jazz music in the area.
I and my groups are also avialalbe for concert settings. I have performed internationally both solo and with my ensembles in concerts and at major jazz festivals.

J'Azure is a drumless trio consisting of guitar/sax/flute/vocals/acoustic bass. This group has been active for ten years and is my most requested group for private functions. The sound is elegant, mellow, yet upbeat and not too overbearing for your event. There is great versatility with our sax player also being a flautist and a great singer. For larger events we will sometimes add a drummer to this group. Here is a video sampler of J'Azure below.

The Orgaphonics is molded in the classic "organ trio" format of guitar, organ, and drums. This group is capable of being smooth and elegant or funky and high energy. For weddings we are often asked to begin the reception nice and easy and then evolve into funky, hard swinging jazz as the party gets going. We also sometimes add a sax player to the group for an even fuller sound. Our organist is also a great vocalist. This jazz group is very versatile and the nature of the organ trio produces a big lush sound from a small, economical group. Below is an audio sampler from our CD showing some of the range of sounds from the Orgaphonics.

duo, trio or quartet with Frank Corbi Frank Corbi is an amazing sax player who has one foot in old school and one foot in modern jazz. It doesn't swing any harder or sound any smoother than Frank. We work together regularly as just a guitar/sax duo, but also as a drumless trio or full quartet. There are very few American songs from the '30s though the '60s that Frank doesn't know. People always say Frank has a way of making everyone around him feel good (whether he's playing music or not). In addition to sax, Frank also plays clarinet. The audio clip below is a sampler featuring Frank Corbi.

The jazz duo is a nice choice for smaller or medium sized events, or when there is a limited budget. I have several configurations I regularly work with: guitar and acoustic bass, guitar and sax, guitar and piano, and even two guitars. Vocals can also be included in the duo format as a couple of the instrumentalists I play with are also great singers. The duo provides a nice full sound for quieter settings or as background music for an event. Below are samples of some of the different configurations I can provide.

solo jazz guitar is one of my favorite ways of performing. My repertoire includes hundreds of great jazz compositions and tunes from the classic American composers such as Gershwin, Porter, Ellington, Kern, Arlen, Dennis, Rogers and more. I play a mix of swing, ballads, bossa-nova's and anything else I can think of. Solo jazz guitar is perfect for filling a space with lush gentle music that can be heard all around the room without being too loud anywhere. Below is an audio sampler of solo jazz guitar.
